Your airship above your address
With your logo, a photo, a short text and your active offers. Always labelled “Ad” with your name, so nobody feels misled.
Your shop floats as an airship on the Ballonpost map. Little gifts drift through the neighbourhood on real wind.

On deal platforms like Groupon or mydealz, the lowest price wins. For independent, owner-run shops, the numbers often don't add up.
is what's left of a €100 service sold as a €50 deal when the platform keeps half.
Worked example. Industry reports put Groupon's commission at typically 30 to 50% of the deal price.According to reports on a Rice University study, around 80% of people redeeming a deal were new customers, but only about one in five came back.
Deals pull in lots of people at once, often exactly when the shop is already full. Your team takes the strain.
After deal campaigns, ratings dipped slightly on average. And people who get used to discounts are reluctant to pay full price again.
On Ballonpost, people send each other messages on balloons that fly with real wind. Shops are like good weather there: visible, but never pushy.

Voucher balloons rise from your shop and drift through the neighbourhood on real wind. They're handed out in turn per shop, not per offer.

Right outside your door, for everyone passing by. Anyone who can't catch it with the camera gets a code at the counter.
Neighbours choose to follow you, for example through the QR poster at the counter. Once a month you send them a thank-you balloon that flies to them on the wind.
Everything happens in the merchant portal in your browser, including on the phone or tablet at the counter.
Create an account in the merchant portal, add your business and address and upload proof of trade registration. You'll also add a link to your legal notice (Impressum).
We check every business by hand: proof, legal notice, address and a short call back on your public phone number.
Once you're approved, your airship appears at your address. Logo, photo, colours and a short text show who you are.
The assistant asks for type, offer, quantity, validity and time window, then shows a preview. We approve every offer before it starts and always explain a rejection.
Your customer shows a QR code or reads out a 6-digit code. In counter mode it takes seconds, and each voucher works only once.
Put up the QR poster, invite your team and send your regulars a thank-you balloon once a month. The analytics show what works.

Redeeming takes seconds: scan or type the code, done.
Ballonpost is not meant to turn into a coupon app. These rules apply to every shop and every plan.
Payment isn't possible in the portal yet. Prices apply after the pilot, are net prices excluding statutory VAT, and nothing becomes chargeable without your explicit consent.

Drifting balloons are handed out per shop in turn, whatever the plan and however many offers are running. No more than 4 fly at once per square kilometre, and no shop gets more than a third of the slots.
Something missing? The merchant portal has the plans, allocation rules and terms of use in full.
Businesses with a fixed, publicly accessible address in Germany: cafés, bakeries, bookshops, hairdressers, workshops, restaurants or small stages. Online-only shops and larger chains aren't part of the pilot.
People aged 16 and over who have turned on “Surprises from shops” in the app, and your regulars. At most 5 airships appear per map view, favourite shops first, then in turn.
Extras like “a cookie with your coffee”, small services for free and fixed amounts off. Percentage discounts only with a good reason. Not allowed: strikethrough prices, countdowns, minimum spends above €20, and offers for alcohol, tobacco, gambling, adult content, diet or health claims and financial products.
Totals only: vouchers caught and redeemed, times of day, new regulars. We hide values below 10. You never see names, contacts, home harbours or locations.
No. The merchant portal runs in the browser and can be saved to a phone or tablet as a web app. The camera scans the QR code, or you type in the 6-digit code. You invite your team by email.
Write down the voucher's backup code and the time, then enter both in the portal later. The first entry counts.
The technology is ready, but prize draws stay switched off until the template for the terms of entry has been legally reviewed. People aged 18 and over will then be able to enter, free of charge and with no purchase necessary.
Your airship carries on in the free tier unless you explicitly choose Basic or Plus. Nothing becomes chargeable automatically.
No. Helium is reserved for messages between people and can't be bought. Shops only send thank-you balloons to their regulars, and those land in a separate “Post from shops” section.
Registering takes a few minutes. We check your proof by hand and get back to you.
